While touring Peru, Zen's team and their botpack assistants find themselves battling both man and nature in their attempt to uncover a hidden gold mine once revered by the Inca. Zen must also navigate the challenges and responsibilities of being a member of the Order of the Indigo Magic, the ancient guild of time travelers. She fights for her life and that of her newfound friends in the past while dealing with betrayal and jealously in the present.

The tale of the Incas goes back to the 1500s. Alonso, a young Spanish sailor and reluctant conquistador, met the beautiful Inca princess Kava while on a mission to raid a sacred gold mine belonging to her people. Instead of killing the villagers, Alonso fell in love with Kava and helped the desperate tribe find a hiding place in the mine. When Alonso was forced to leave Kava, he despaired of ever seeing her again and feared her people would be forever trapped underground.
